Thanet Creative are very pleased to tell you about another new group for writers – Kent Fiction Writers. Unlike most writers’ groups, this one does not run its own events but encourages people to try out events they have not been to before.

The project is being headed up by Anthony Levings who has created groups like this before. Anthony works in academic publishing and feels that there is great scope for the literary groups around the county to come together.

The more I’ve thought about it and the more I’ve started to seek out groups, the more I think it could work well if people came together across the county to meet with others in, for example, literary locations, libraries, and bookshops, as well as with established writing groups.

The plan is quite simple. Anthony (and anyone else who likes the idea) will come along to different writers events and groups and encourage others to come and try them out with him. In this way, we can all build bridges with each other and expand our circle of writer friends.

Personally, I think this is a great idea. It has the full support of Thanet Creative and, I hope, will be taken up by the many other groups in Kent.
