There are special times of the day when photographs look their best. This time is known by some as the magic hour.

Also known as the golden hour, this is the period of daytime shortly after sunrise or before sunset, during which daylight is redder and softer. Much more so than when the Sun is higher in the sky.

This is why Thanet Creative Photographers meet an hour before sunset. At that time, the sun does all the hard work for you and beautiful photographs are much easier to create.

Following the golden hour (not exactly one hour) before sunset comes the blue hour where the sky lights up a lot bluer. This creates an entirely different lighting configuration in the world and makes for interesting images.

The blue hour is the tail end of a Thanet Creative photography trip. When the blue has faded or we are all a bit too cold, we retire to a cafe or pub and warm up before we go our separate ways. This is probably the same venue where we met up to start with.
