Happy London Press are running a nationwide writing competition for unpublished writers.

Clare Newton of Happy London Press told me that the idea behind the competition is to give UK new writers a chance to get their story published. Winners will see there work in print in a glossy hardback book.

We encourage all entrants to submit entries that are bold, different and original in order for them to stand out from the rest.

Hi 2020 provides a platform for 20 winners from three district categories – Near to London (see below), Anywhere in the UK, and children and teens.

• Three County Challenge (Bucks, Herts & London)
• UK Challenge ( British isles and Northern Ireland)
• 11yrs – 18 yrs Challenge (UK- British Isles and Northern Ireland)

You word count must be between 1000 up to 1500 words. This is a hard limit due to space restrictions so make sure you come in at or onder 1500 words.

Hi 2020 is open to unpublished writers who are proven residents in one of the three challenge groups. Entries must be entirely the work of the entrant and must never have been previously published, in print or online.

Your story – which must be written in English – may be from any of the following 4 broad topics:

• Adventure/Travel
• Thriller/Dark
• Romance
• Science/Fantasy

All writers need to do is log into Hi2020.co.uk and register – the fee is just £6 per entry (although there may be currently a discount for more entries).

The deadline is the 20th July 5pm.

The deadline date for entries is 5PM July 20th, 2020.
