A day of social meetups for Thanet’s writers

This week sees Thanet’s writers meeting for not one but two social meetups.

This Wednesday (the 28th) has become a day for Thanet’s writers, poets, and creatives to meet up in places around Margate.

Lunchtime: Writers grabbing a coffee

At a time best described as Lunchtime-ish, we will be meeting up to grab a coffee. This social meetup will take place in Margate’s Costa Coffee.

This social meetup is open to Thanet’s writers, poets, creative types, and anyone else that wants to grab a coffee with us. In other words, everyone.

The social will start at roughly half-past eleven. However, I am given to understand that some people may be rolling up a bit sooner than that. Let us know you are coming (so we can keep an eye open for you)?

  • If you are coming by bus, the nearest stop on all routes is Cecil Square.

For more information please see the Facebook event page.

Early Evening: Midweek Beer

It seems that the natural home of Thanet’s Creative Writers is a pub that serves real ale. Which is why the second of our social meetups is in a pub that serves real ale. The London Tavern, which a certain blogging writer introduced me to, will be that venue.

This social meetup is also open to all. While it will not be the main focus of the evening, you are welcome to bring poetry, short stories, or novel extracts if you wish.

The social will start at roughly seven o’clock. I am likely to head straight to the venue after the coffee meetup so I am likely to be early.

  • If you are coming by bus, the nearest stop on all routes is Cecil Square.
  • The last bus is sometime shortly after eleven

For more information please see the evening social event page on Facebook.

Find out about future social meetups

It's all over for another year. Time to think about editing.

Thanet Creative are just a bunch of local people sharing our love of writing. Most of us have day jobs or are trying our best to make full-time writing pay. We have a Facebook group which is very active if you need a quick answer.
